What You Need

First and foremost, the dress code on a retreat is comfortable and warm.

This is a wonderful opportunity to completely relax, so just wear what you are going to be most comfortable in.  Warmth should be a priority when outside, as we can get four seasons in one hour in the Scottish Highlands, so befriend the concept of layering.  However, all the accommodation will be very warm with under-floor heating and fireplaces in the lounges.

Clothing:

Depending on how much you want to do each day (and what the weather does) you may need a few clothing changes each day.  Please note, our retreats are not bootcamps and you can explore the surrounding landscape as much or as little as you like.

  • Walking/cycling/running trousers
  • T-shirts or tops for walking
  • Fleeces/jumpers for layering
  • Waterproof jacket/Rain Mac (you might want to bring an old one as a spare as well)
  • Hat & gloves & a scarf (just in case)
  • Please note that there will be the opportunity to wash any clothing during your stay

Footwear:

  • Good socks
  • Hillwalking boots (if you would like to explore some of the hill tracks)
  • Pair of trainers for walking/cycling on the roads (or comfortable shoes - NB anywhere can be muddy in Scotland regardless of the season)
  • Indoor shoes such as slippers, and thick woolly socks
  • Wellies aren’t essential (but are good as a an extra outdoor option)
